We all have some little known facts about ourselves that we don’t often share with others, or let’s face it, they just don’t come up in regular conversations. Here are some random facts about me I thought I would share!
- I suffer from Trypophobia, but I can binge watch episodes of Dr. Pimplepopper. Go figure!
- My kindergarten teacher shortened my name to Suzy because Suzanne was too hard for me to spell.
- My dad was in the military. I spent the first 10 years of my life living in Northern Ontario. But I was born in Nova Scotia. In fact, myself and my brother and sister were all born in the same hospital, which is fairly rare for military “brats’.
- I named my daughter Ocean after one of the lead characters in the Canadian TV series, Danger Bay. I had the name picked out since I was in Grade 9. I also wanted to be a Marine Biologist because of that show.
- I once won tickets to a Prince concert singing Karaoke at The Dome. I cannot sing. I texted my sister at 3 in the morning to tell her I won tickets and I was giving them to her. She texted me later that morning, when she woke up to read my texts to ask if I was serious. She’s a huge Prince fan and I was so pumped to give her those tickets. Who knew, it would be one of the last concerts he did.
- My first time travelling outside of Canada was only in 2010. It was a work trip to the US. I had to rush getting a passport to be able to go. My love of travel began that year.
- I throw axes, which is not such a random, unknown fact about me. However, my first competition ever was the World Championships in Munster, Germany in 2017. I’ve never been so nervous. I placed 7th overall in the women’s competition and completely shocked myself.
- I’m an introvert and suffer greatly from imposter syndrome. I’m working on that.
- I’m a quote freak. I love quotes, I try and find a quote to go with every situation. My favourite? I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better. Maya Angelou
- I hate when people touch my knees.
